Most of Germany's Christmas markets close by December 23rd. But there are some that stay open through the end of December or even into the new year. Beyond the visiting the markets, ice skating can also be a festive activity to enjoy throughout the winter. Here's a list of Christmas markets and open-air ice skating rinks that have an extended schedule.

Baden-Wüttemburg

Baden-Baden
The Christmas market stays open until January 6th.
Hours:
Daily 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
New Year's Eve: 11 a.m to 4 p.m.

Heidelberg
The ice skating rink and surrounding food and beverage stands stay open until January 6th

Karlsruhe
The ice skating rink stays open until January 28th

Gersthofener
The Christmas market is open until December 30th

Munich
The ice skating rink located at the "Stachus" station is open until January 13th
Hours:
10:30 to 10 p.m.
New Year's Eve: 10:30 to 4 p.m.

Würzburg
The ice skating rink stays open until mid-March

Berlin

Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market stays open until December 31st, through 1 a.m.
Regular hours:
11 a.m to 10 p.m.

Potsdam's Christmas Market stays open until December 30th
Hours:
Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m to 9 p.m.
December 30th: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Berlin also has the most open-air ice skating rinks of any German city. Many stay open throughout the winter.
